National Quilt Museum, Primal Forces: Wind from Meena Schaldenbrand

Thrilled to be a part of the fantastic Wind exhibit at the National Quilt Museum in Paducah, KY.

Delighted to see this quilt in person that was made for my grandson who is fascinated by tornadoes!

Below is a floral pin cusion and a needle holder glued to a golf tee that can slip into a spool of thread!

Appliqué at the National Quilt Museum: Part 2 from Telling Stories Through the Needle's Eye

This week, we finish our appliqué tour at the National Quilt Museum in Paducah. Both of the remaining exhibits featured tiny quilts. A full-sized appliquéd album quilt is impressive, and then there are the album quilts that are the size of a typical block. Mind-blowing work. I (Teri) was in awe and inspired to attempt some small stitching.

I have always loved this block; it was the first appliqué class that I taught.
